Researcher profile

Dr Mesmin Awo

ICMPA-UNESCO Chair
Dr Mesmin F. Awo works at the International Chair in Mathematical Physics and Applications (ICMPA) – UNESCO Chair. He obtained a PhD in physical oceanography on the dynamics and impacts of the tropical Atlantic climate modes from the University of Abomey Calavi in Benin and Paul Sabatier University of Toulouse in France. His research is involved in the European PREFACE (enhancing PREdiction oF tropical Atlantic ClimatE and its impacts) program, which aims to improve our understanding of variability in the tropical Atlantic. He is currently working to better understand the ocean-atmosphere interactions that occur in the west African monsoon through observations data, numerical simulations and analysis products. Dr Awo is also a member of the team of the Master in Physical Oceanography and Applications at ICMPA and co-supervises student internships.
