Dr Olivier Boucher

Olivier Boucher’s research focuses on the physics of climate change and bridges links to much-needed work on climate change impacts and mitigation pathways. He is a specialist on atmospheric aerosols and how they affect meteorology and climate or can be used for geoengineering the climate system. His work received many awards from the Prix Prud’homme in 1995 and the CNRS Bronze medal in 2000 to the Outstanding Young Scientist Award of the EGU in 2004 and the Harry Otten prize in 2015. Olivier has been heavily involved in the International Panel of Climate Change, lastly as a coordinator lead author for the “Clouds and Aerosols” chapter of the IPCC fifth assessment report.
