Michelle Simões Reboita

Michelle Simões Reboita is a professor and researcher at the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI), Brazil, and serves as the coordinator of GPEPSA-UNIFEI (meteorologia.unifei.edu.br), a study group focused on environmental practices. She has expertise in synoptic meteorology and climate modelling. She is also a co-chair of the Regional Working Group on American Monsoons (WG-AMM), which is part of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), and a member of the Working Group on Tropical Meteorology Research of the World Weather Research Programme (WWRP/WMO), as well as a collaborator with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy. In collaboration with Prof. Rosmeri P. da Rocha, she conducted the first study on the simulation of cyclones using a regional climate model over the South Atlantic Ocean (published in 2010). Her research group is now a pioneer in studying the impacts of SRM on atmospheric pressure systems over the South Atlantic Ocean.
