Dr Detras is a Professor and current chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, CEAT, at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. She has both a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering, for which she was an Academic Achievement Awardee. She earned her PhD degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University, Texas, USA in 2013. Dr. Detras is actively involved in various research projects being implemented in UP Los Banos and other UP Constituent Units. Her research interests include Waste-to-Energy, Bioenergy, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management, Nanofertilizer Formulation, Thermochemical and Electrochemical Processes, Biomass Utilization. She has published various technical articles in international and local Web of Science and Scopus-indexed refereed journals; and book chapters which are being used in teaching Chemical Engineering courses.
