SRMGI (The Degrees Initiative) will be able to expand its work through 2021 thanks to a new grant from SilverLining’s Safe Climate Research Initiative. The research fund provided grants to five SRM research initiatives considered to be outstanding:
- The National Center for Atmospheric Research Climate and Global Dynamics (CGD) Laboratory
- The University of Washington Marine Cloud (MCB) Brightening Project
- Cornell University Climate Engineering Program
- Rutgers University Impact Studies of Climate Intervention (RISCI) Program
- and DECIMALS
The Safe Climate Research Initiative grant will allow Degrees Modelling Fund researchers to work more closely with colleagues at Rutgers, Cornell, NCAR and the University of Washington. It is supported by LowerCarbon Capital, Matt Cohler, Pritzker Innovation Fund, Bill Trenchard, and the LAD Climate Fund. Watch this space for an announcement of how the funds will be spent.
