Newsletter: Degrees winter update 2023

Degrees has published the winter update of our quarterly newsletter. It’s been a busy year for the Degrees Initiative, and it’s great to be able to look back over the last twelve months.

Publication: Chapter on SRM and cocoa production in Nigeria

The 2018 South African Degrees Modelling Fund team has published a new book chapter with Temitope Egbebiyi as the lead author. The chapter models the impacts of both climate change and solar radiation modification (SRM) on cocoa production in Nigeria.

Remembering Prof. Saleemul Huq OBE (1952-2023)

Prof. Saleemul Huq

It is with a heavy heart that the Degrees Initiative bids farewell to our friend and colleague Saleemul Huq, who died at his home in Bangladesh on Saturday. He was one of Degrees’ trustees since it became an independent NGO in 2021, and a good friend to Degrees’ predecessor, the SRM Governance Initiative, for many years before that.
