Dr Alastair Bradstock
Alastair has worked in the international development sector for over 30 years. He has worked for two development organisations: (FARM-Africa and the Oxford Policy Fellowship), an international development think-tank (the International Institute for Environment and Development) and two donors (Cancer Research UK and a Foundation for a Smoke Free World). He spent six years living and working in Tanzania and South Africa. His PhD explored the effectiveness of the South African government’s land reform programme.
Alastair has supported community groups, researchers and governments in the developing world as well as leading and supporting numerous research, policy and development programmes. Most recently, he led a team that explored what policy and legislative changes are needed to facilitate the transition to renewable energy in selected sub-Saharan African countries.
