Three new teams have just been awarded Degrees Modelling Fund (DMF) grants in Bangladesh, Kenya and the Philippines. Congratulations and welcome to them! Altogether, 15 new scientists will research the potential impacts of SRM on their regions from 2021 to 2023:
- In Bangladesh, the team led by Dr Abu Syed (Centre for Rediscovered and Redefined Natural Resources Research and Education) will seek to understand how SRM could affect the country’s hydrology, with a focus on the Padma-Brahmaputra-Meghna basin.

In 2018, the first DMF call for proposals returned more than 70 applications from 30 developing countries but only the eight very best-scoring teams could be funded, while other promising proposals had to be waitlisted. This year, new funding finally allowed us to fund these outstanding waitlisted proposals. We are proud to support them and wish them the best for their research!
