Heri Kuswanto
Prof. Heri Kuswanto is a Full Professor at the Department of Statistics, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia, and an active researcher at the Center for Disaster Mitigation and Climate Change – ITS. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Leibniz University Hannover, Germany, with a specialization in time series forecasting. In 2010, he spent a year as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Laval University, Canada, where he focused on the calibration of ensemble forecasts. His current research focuses on extreme weather and climate events, with extensive experience in ensemble modeling and statistical downscaling. He is also recognized as an expert in computational statistics and machine learning. He has served as Principal Investigator for several major research projects, including the development of a drought monitoring and forecasting system for Indonesia based on calibrated North American Multi-Model Ensemble (NMME) outputs, funded by the NSF-USAID PEER Research Grant.
