Romaric Odoulami is a researcher with the ACDI, an interdisciplinary research and training institute situated within the University of Cape Town. His research focuses on climate change risks, adaptation, and mitigation with a specific focus on Africa. His research includes contributing to the understanding of (i) climate processes, climate projections and modelling, climate change risks and attribution, (ii) climate change impacts and its implications for agriculture, food systems, water resources, biodiversity, and health, (iii) the potential of climate geoengineering interventions and their implications for society.

He was Principal investigator (PI) and co-PI on five Degrees Modelling Fund projects, which studied SRM’s impact on the climate in Africa with a specific focus on climate extremes, biodiversity, and health. He is now leading the largest African SRM research grant funded by the Simons Foundation. Romaric currently serves in the interim Scientific Steering Group of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) Lighthouse Activity – Research on Climate Intervention.
