Steven Chouto

PhD researcher
National Institute of Cartography, Cameroon

Steven Chouto is a PhD candidate in Physical Geography with a specialization in hydroclimatology at the University of Maroua (Cameroon) and a researcher at the Climate Change Research Laboratory (CCRL) of the National Institute of Cartography (Yaounde, Cameroon). His work combines in situ observations, spatial analysis, and large-scale geospatial and remote sensing datasets processed in cloud-computing environments to understand how climate variability affects water resources and rural socio-ecological systems. A postgraduate of the African Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology (CRASTE-LF/UN), he developed strong skills in statistical and geospatial modelling, including spatial downscaling and resampling of raster data. He has contributed to research projects on hydroclimatic variability, dynamic remote sensing and watershed-based environmental assessment.
