Zakariahou Ngavom is a PhD student in Atmospheric and Climate Sciences at the Laboratory for Environmental Modelling and Atmospheric Physics (LEMAP) of the University of Yaounde 1, in Cameroon. His research examines the impact of climate variability on extreme precipitation events, as well as their potential implications for the number of person exposed to these hazards in Africa. Through his active participation in academic collaborations and international conferences on climate change, Zakariahou’s research contributes to the advancement of climate science and thus supports efforts to prevent and reduce risks and disasters across the continent.
