Dr Lili Xia
Staff Scientist
Dr Lili Xia is a climatologist exploring how solar climate intervention, nuclear conflict, and climate change affect food systems, ecosystems, and air quality. Volunteering as a research collaborator with the Degrees Initiative since 2017, she now serves as a Staff Scientist. Dr Xia is also an Assistant Research Professor at Rutgers University and Co-Director of the Rutgers Impact Studies of Climate Intervention (RISCI). Her work combines climate and impact models to assess environmental risks under extreme scenarios. She sits on the Scientific Advisory Group for the Nuclear Ban Treaty and will chair the 2026 Gordon Research Conference on Climate Engineering.
