Michael Murphy

Michael Murphy is a senior fundraising leader with extensive international executive experience across multiple sectors including higher education, science, conservation, and culture. He founded Murphy Philanthropy in 2024 and provides strategic fundraising advice to a range of organisations including the Degrees Initiative, Arizona State University Foundation, the Wallace Collection, the Saatchi Gallery and the NSPCC. Throughout his career, Murphy has demonstrated expertise in developing innovative fundraising campaigns, securing leadership gifts, leading large teams, and working with philanthropists globally. He has designed and managed comprehensive campaigns ranging from £100 million to £1billion and has served on multiple charity and non-profit boards. Murphy holds degrees from Antioch University and Lawrence University with additional executive education from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
